About JOMAC

The Leading Manufacturer of Powerfully Light Aluminum Truck Bodies

JOMAC Ltd. is a proudly American manufacturer of aluminum truck bodies and hydraulic crane-equipped work trucks, serving customers across the United States from our facility in Carrollton, Ohio.

Since 1988, we have focused on one mission: building truck bodies that are powerfully light and engineered for the way real crews work.

Our Mission

To design and manufacture powerfully light aluminum truck bodies and crane systems that maximize durability, safety, and long-term value for the industries that rely on them every day.

Our Vision

To be the most trusted aluminum work truck manufacturer in the United States by combining innovative engineering, industry expertise, and unmatched post-sale support.

Our Story

JOMAC was founded in 1988 by owner and President Rich Jones. The company began as Jones Manufacturing in a small garage south of Carrollton, Ohio, producing heavy-duty hand carts. As Rich refined his fabrication skills and developed new manufacturing methods, the business quickly outgrew its original space. One garage became two, and soon the operation moved to a larger facility in Carrollton. With that move, Jones Manufacturing became JOMAC Ltd.

Rich’s background in the propane service industry shaped the future of the company. In the 1980s, he delivered propane cylinders out of his 1969 Ford truck. Working hands-on in the field gave him firsthand knowledge of how inefficient and overloaded service trucks could become. He saw an opportunity to build something better.

JOMAC initially manufactured steel service bodies. Over time, it became clear that steel was too heavy and too limiting for the demands of the service industry. Trucks were frequently overloaded, reducing performance and increasing wear. JOMAC pivoted to aluminum, becoming one of the first manufacturers to build aluminum service truck bodies at scale.

The goal was clear: design the lightest-weight, most durable, heavy-duty body on the market.

That foundation still drives us today.

Expanding Capabilities

In the early 1990s, Rich began searching for a crane solution that matched the quality of JOMAC’s aluminum bodies. After partnering with Ekegard Cranes of Iowa, JOMAC later began building cranes in-house in Carrollton alongside Fritz Ekstam. This integration allowed us to deliver complete truck and crane packages engineered to work together seamlessly.

Over the years, JOMAC expanded into multiple industries, including propane, mechanical service, tire service, oil and gas, municipal fleets, and even specialized military applications. While our markets have grown, our focus has remained the same: engineered strength, practical design, and long-term reliability.

Today, JOMAC trucks operate nationwide. While much of our work is east of the Mississippi, we proudly serve clients across the entire United States.
