Toughness and grit are the qualities we all look for in a service body. There is much discussion within the industry as to whether aluminum service bodies can provide the same resiliency and toughness as other service body materials, and we have the answers.
First of all, yes. They are as tough as you can get.
But how tough is tough? What is the benchmark for how tough they are (comparatively speaking)?
Well, funny you should ask because we compiled a list to document exactly how tough an aluminum service truck body is.
Tougher than Chuck Norris
Walker, Texas Ranger has gone on record to say, “I am tougher than any man, machine, or animal on earth.”
The interviewer asked, “What about aluminum service bodies?”
Norris, looking defeated replied, “Except those.”
Damn straight, Chuck. You may be able to roundhouse kick every evil-doer in the state of Texas, but you can never roundhouse kick an aluminum service body…
Because it’s tougher than you.

Tougher than Mike Tyson
Iron Mike? That dude doesn’t stand a chance.
Now “Aluminum Mike” would be a better suited nickname.
While Mike Tyson may have been laying people flat back in the early 90’s, his dominance slowly faded with time.
Contrast this with an aluminum service body, which JOMAC guarantees for life. There’s no slowing that down.
Aluminum service bodies with the knockout. That was a dad joke.
Tougher than John Wayne
If you thought it was impossible to be tougher than The Duke, think again.
While we would put our money on Mr. Wayne having a slight edge on fighting crime in the Wild West, as far as sheer toughness, an aluminum service body wins.
John Wayne had a hell of a run, and that’s a fact.
As John Wayne aged, some of that toughness went with him.
Aluminum service bodies stay tough for life. Did we mention the JOMAC lifetime warranty on aluminum truck bodies?
Just making sure. You can read about that here (and I promise not to mention it again…).

Tougher than the honey badger
Do you have any idea what a honey badger even is?
I didn’t until it was time to search for literally anything that stood a chance to being as tough as an aluminum utility body.
A honey badger is a little, skunk-like animal that is literally the most badass animal in the world.
The honey badger can get bitten by a cobra, then kill the cobra, sleep off the toxic venomous bite, and wake up and eat the cobra.
It has been said that the honey badger can literally chew through the neck of a predator (i.e. a lion, tiger, etc.) if it is being eaten.
The honey badger is wicked scary.
The aluminum service body is still more tough.
Aluminum service body is resistant to snake venom, and it doesn’t even have to sleep it off. You know, because it is a truck body.
Aluminum service bodies are so tough, lions don’t even try to eat them.
Aluminum service bodies: tougher than a honey badger.
Yes, this section is pretty dumb.
Moving on…
Tougher than Liam Neeson
You read that right. An aluminum service body is tougher than the guy from Taken.
Both Liam Neeson and the aluminum service body have a very specific set of skills that they have acquired over a long career.
The aluminum service body is the clear winner here, as the truck body shows no emotion even under the most intense circumstances.
They are emotionless and fear no danger or threats. They just continue working.
Winner: Aluminum service bodies
Tougher than a Ford Ranger
The compact pickup we knew as the Ford Ranger was quite possibly the most indestructible piece of automotive engineering ever created.
If you ever owned one, you know those buggers would run for 200,000 miles without so much as a hiccup.
It’s no wonder that they have still retained value since their discontinuation in 2011 (although word on the street is Ford is bringing it back in 2019).
Regardless, the Ford Ranger’s ability to run for an obscene amount of miles was impressive.
However, an aluminum service body will last much longer. It’s resistance to oxidation and corrosion (you know, rust and all that) plus the innovations in aluminum fabrication give the truck body an edge as the winner.
Tougher than Dad strength
Dad strength is a natural phenomenon that has existed for thousands of years.
Everyone knows that no matter how tough you think you are, your dad is always going to be able to put a whoopin’ on you, regardless of age.
It is one of the most scientifically illogical cirucumstances in the natural world.
Actually…
Aluminum service bodies may not be tougher than dad strength.
I don’t think anything is, come to think of it.
Forget this section….
So there you have it. Aluminum service bodies are clearly some of the most tough, durable, predator-resistant, piece of equipment known to mankind.
They possess the incredible ability to outlast and outwork anything else on the market.
Our research above is glaring proof of this to be true.
