If you are an avid reader of our blog, you should know by now that we think aluminum is the “bees knees” when it comes to truck body materials.
(If you’re a first time reader, welcome, how are you?, nice weather we’re having, etc.)
By selecting an aluminum truck body for your utility truck, you are giving yourself several hundred pounds of added payload that can be used for anything under the sun.
You can expect on average to gain between 600-1000 lbs of added payload capacity from selecting an aluminum service truck body (if you want to talk actual numbers).
We have gone ahead and done some heavy lifting for you, to compile a list of ideas for what you can use this massive payload increase to haul on your service truck.
Note: Or you could just not haul anything, and enjoy the fuel savings benefits of an extremely light weight service truck body.
4 gasoline powered generators
You can toss 4 gas powered generators on the back of your truck body and still have payload to spare by making the switch to aluminum.
Each generator will weigh approximately 175 lbs, and when their 7 gallon tanks are filled, will add about another 50 lbs.
That extra payload capability will give you an additional 700-1000 lbs to play with, so the generators will not cause any issue.
Now you have the power to do so!
Power! Like generators that produce power! Get it?!?!
2- 53 gallon whiskey barrels
As impractical as it may seem, by switching to aluminum you can now haul an extra two full 53 gallon whiskey barrels to make sure that no work gets done on that day, or the following one.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND USING ADDED PAYLOAD CAPACITY FOR THIS, BUT IT’S AMERICA AND YOU CAN DO AS YOU WISH.
100 chain saws
Are you looking to log an entire forest but don’t have enough chainsaws?
Fear not!
You can haul as many as a hundred extra chainsaws with the added payload capacity that an aluminum service truck body provides.
Now everyone gets a chainsaw.
You can be like Santa Claus, but for chainsaws.
You get a chainsaw! And you get a chainsaw!
Thank goodness for that extra payload capacity.
3 atlas robots
An Atlas Robot is a human sized robot that is absolutely terrifying if you take the time to Google it.
It is like an early Terminator, except in real life.
I would not want one of these things anywhere near me. They weigh about 300 lbs and are something out of a nightmare.
I suppose if you wanted to automate your work, you could use one. Aluminum service bodies will let you haul three of them.
Just keep them away from me.
2 grizzly bears
Let’s suppose that one of your Atlas Robots gets out of hand and starts to revolt in its own robot way.
You were smart and only brought one Robot with you because you had the foresight to see there could be issues.
So one robot = 300 lbs.
You noticed you still had some payload capabilities to play around with, so you also loaded up a highly trained grizzly bear to take care of the robot if it got out of line.
One grizzle bear = 600 lbs.
You unleash the grizzly bear to destroy the robot, and because the grizzly is so well trained it returns to the truck to load up and go home.
You just prevented a potentially catastrophic robot revolt with a trained grizzly bear, all because you saw the added payload potential of an all-aluminum service truck body.
You are a hero.
Aluminum Truck Body Solutions
While we do like to joke around, aluminum service bodies can seriously push your utility truck payload limits and allow you to haul more equipment that you need for the job at hand.
On average, an aluminum truck body will allot you between 700-1000 lbs of extra hauling potential.
That is a lot of wiggle room to add extra equipment that is essential to getting work done.
