Founder & President

Rich Jones, Founder & Owner of JOMACRich Jones began his journey in 1975 working in his father’s garage repairing gas apparatus equipment under the name D&R Equipment Repair. He also served, protecting the Carroll County community, as a Deputy Sheriff from 1980-1989. Jones began his propane business, Jones Propane, in 1985 after working in partnership with Gary West of Valley National Gases to develop a customer base in the Carrollton, Ohio area. Being the industrious person he is, Rich started out delivering the upright propane cylinders, which he stored in a renovated corn crib, out of his 1969 Ford Truck. This began developing his extensive knowledge of the service industry and began recognizing the needs his customers were facing. From there he purchased a propane customer’s fabricating equipment and began manufacturing hand carts out of his garage at his residence. As Rich gained extensive fabricating skills, his garage business started expanding to what is now JOMAC Ltd. Being the visionary that he is, Rich saw opportunity and advancement for the service industry truck body designs. He found steel to be too heavy and turned to aluminum to design more efficient tools for all service industries. After designing and manufacturing taluminum bodies Rich decided JOMAC Ltd. needed a truck mounted crane to compliment the bodies. A long search led him to a high quality crane manufacturing company that is now part of JOMAC Ltd. One of the original crane manufacturers and long-time friend of Jones, Fritz Ekstam, is still with the company today. Rich Jones’s vision has always led to high quality, long lasting, durable products. His sociable and reliable personality makes it easy for him to connect to his customer base and as he says, “our customers are our boss, we are here working and providing for them”.

If you want to find Rich Jones when he’s not at JOMAC Ltd., just look in his race shop. He spends his spare time integrating design skills and mastering new mechanical features on his Ford Mustang which he races in the Professional Trans-Am Road Racing Series. As a race car driver of 10+ years, he thoroughly enjoys it and spends much of his time dedicated again to efficiency and innovation on and off the track. Rich is also a family oriented man and enjoys spending much time with his two children and his grandson.
